The Formentera Department of Culture reports that the Sala de Cultura will soon welcome islanders back for its programme of cinema. Two weekly sessions —Fridays at 8.30pm and Sundays at 8.00pm— will take place from 6 November. This month’s programme can be found at agendaformentera.cat and on the Facebook page of Cinema Formentera.
Culture consellera Susana Labrador highlighted recent programming like the summer outdoor film series Cinema a la Fresca, as well as stage productions which were scheduled pre-pandemia. “We’re in a position to fully comply with public health orders from the regional government, so we’ve opted to resume screenings at the cinema”, Labrador said, adding that officials would be “watching rules changes closely and retooling cultural programming accordingly”.
Cinema capacity is currently 104, masks are mandatory at all times and moviegoers will be asked to sanitise hands and maintain a safe distance. Food and drinks will not be permitted. Advance reservations will not be taken, rather, tickets can be purchased at the box office before every session.
