New mobility orders

Now that the phased easing of confinement has begun, the Consell de Formentera has adopted new presidential orders on mobility.

Organisational and safety measures laid out for phase one of confinement de-escalation are as follows:

Masks must be worn in public transport (bus and taxi)

Buses:

* Service reduced by 20% compared to standard winter service. Hours of passage are coordinated with ferry arrivals and departures.
* Buses will travel at up to 50% capacity

Taxis:

* Service reduced by 80%. Five of the island’s 25 licensed drivers may operate in rotating shifts.
* Up to 2 passengers can ride in rear seats
* In coordination with ferry arrivals, taxis will be available at the Port de la Savina bus stop. Elsewhere on the island, riders must contact 971 32 23 42 for service. The chauffeurs’ association is responsible for determining the rotating shifts. Established conditions must be respected.

The current decree shall not affect previous orders such as cleaning measures in buses and taxis or updates from health authorities. Additional cleaning measures will be necessary to ensure surfaces are disinfected in light of new riders. Safeguards are also in place to protect public transport personnel.

Metred blue zone parking remains suspended during this phase of confinement de-escalation
